Evolution Brewing's Winter Migration Has Arrived

Delmar, Delaware's (and soon to be Maryland's) Evolution Brewing is releasing its seasonal "Winter Migration" today. The 2011 version is a dark strong ale, aged in bourbon barrels.

It will be available on draft at select accounts, and only 900 bottles were made.

The draft accounts in Maryland will be:

Frisco Tap House

Max's Tap House

Metropolitan Coffeehouse

The Judges Bench

Alonso's

There is also a listing of select draft accounts in Delaware, Virginia and Washington D.C. as well as bottle shops anticipated to have some of the limited supply.

Some more about 2011 Winter Migration:

This bourbon-forward ale has aggressive notes of vanilla, char and bourbon heat. Balancing the barrel character are elements of chocolate, coffee, toffee and caramel. This beer is black with a tan head, modest carbonation and is best served at 50-55F. Comparisons with the 2010 vintage will show that this years has more roasted tones and that the barrel character of the 2010, as of now, has faded considerably.

Malt: Scottish Pale Malt, English Crystal, Chocolate, Black and Roast
Hops: East Kent Golding
Original Gravity: 22.5 degrees Plato ABV: 10.5% IBU: 35
